Community Services in Las Vegas

Are you looking to involve yourself in your community?

Whether it is volunteer work in a soup kitchen or a Las Vegas library, community work doesn’t just engage you in the present. It connects you to your community’s past and helps to foster a better, brighter future.

It doesn’t just benefit the people around you, either. Giving back to your community enriches your own life and gives you a stronger sense of self. The connections you forge with your neighborhood and the world––when you volunteer––are what will support you during times of doubt and distress.

Do you want to become more involved in your community? Jeanette's Joy Community Services can help you get your foot in the door. We facilitate a variety of programs related to African American History Month which all aim to celebrate and improve the lives of the African-American community at large. We believe in the spirit of service and sacrifice. We believe in boosting self-confidence and contributing to others standing tall and walking proud. We believe that no child should be left behind, and neither should the awe-inspiring stories of our African American communities and their ancestors.

Are you looking to educate yourself or become affiliated with a Black History and culture organization, while also enriching the existing communities of today? If so, don’t hesitate to give Jeanette's Joy Community Services a call. We’d love to hear from you.

African-American Volunteer Organizations Near Me

If you want to know the history of the United States of America, you must know the History of African Americans. In the Las Vegas area, there are many historical sites and museums where you can educate yourself further on the rich histories, such as the Walker African American Museum, and the West Las Vegas Library Theatre. You could even walk through the Jackson Street Commercial District, which showcased many black-owned establishments from the 1940’s onwards.

If you were to visit these places, you might feel inclined to delve further into your local African-American community, but you might not be sure how to do so. You might want to work with African American youth, such as children who might benefit from Black History-focused workshops, community involvement, and community assistance.

When that time comes, we hope you give Jeanette's Joy Community Services a call. Our workshops, funding drives, information sessions, and various Black History-focused activities aren’t performed out of self-interest, corporate greed, or financial hope. Our work is done for the benefit of the Las Vegas community at large.

The Benefits of Volunteer Community Service

It can be hard to persuade people to take time out of their day to give back to the community – especially if their own lives are so fraught with daily inconveniences and stresses. At Jeanette's Joy Community Services, we’ve seen the look on people’s faces after they’ve devoted a day of their lives to community outreach. It can sometimes be hard to tell who was helping who. That’s because volunteer services enrich a volunteer’s life as much as it enriches the community.
